“I currently work at Amazon and have done so for 7 years. A couple years ago, I went on maternity leave to give birth to my son. When I returned 6 months later, I was not given any support, ramp back period, or recognition for work I did for the rest of the year. During the next employee review period, I was told that my work had to be stacked against the work of my 3 male coworkers (who were not on any kind of leave the previous year). My manager told me she was disappointed I had not returned to work with ‘fire in my belly.’ She also said didn't accomplish anything the previous year, I wasn't working at my level (she couldn't tell me why) and would not be getting any kind of raise or promotion. I decided to transfer to another team.”
