#33 “My manager had also failed the exam, my coworker also sat the exam and failed. My manager did not have to take the exam again, the coworker was promoted, and I was placed on a pivot.”
“After I was able to transfer from a horrific team where there was racism, suicide, and retaliation by management, I looped into another nightmare team. I was given less time to complete exam requirements than my colleagues. I had to prepare and sit an SA exam within 90 days, the standard for actual SAs is 180 days. The colleagues on my team had 2 years or more for this requirement. I asked why I had a shorter time to prepare and was met with anger by management. As a technical curriculum developer with an AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, I had no plans to be an SA. My qualifications were satisfactory for my role. I sat the exam with the limited time given and didn't pass, missing by a few points. My manager had also failed the exam, my coworker also sat the exam and failed. My manager did not have to take the exam again, the coworker was promoted, and I was placed on a pivot.”
