#65 “After a few weeks, he let me know that he would not be attending any more…”

“I hold a weekly sync meeting with my team, and some others who work closely with us; my manager often attended, because it was a topic of interest to him, but remained a passive listener, letting my run my own meetings. After a few weeks, he let me know that he would not be attending any more -- he wanted to attend, but he noticed certain engineers who would only look and talk to him, and not me, even when he wasn't the one asking questions. While I feel very supported by my manager, and was glad he had noticed and was taking action accordingly, the fact that I was being so obviously overlooked in my own meeting was disheartening.”
