“In 2015, I attended GHC for the first time and when I returned from the conference, some of my team members were curious about what happened at the conference and what I learnt. I was narrating my experience of attending a keynote where Go Daddy's CEO revealed their company's data about gender pay gap and I was very impressed by the company's openness about sharing the data. I was describing how the data pointed out that the pay gap increases as you go up the experience/level ladder in the company - to which one of my teammates who was listening, quickly interjected to say ‘but it is also true that men work harder as you go up the ladder’. After looking at my expression (I couldn't hide my disgust), he laughingly added "I was only joking" and changed the topic.”
