“I was the only female developer on the team, and also the only non native English speaker. On every code review I sent out, I used to get a few dozens of minor comments. Sometimes it would be the exact same comment over and over again on different places, like I couldn't infer from one place to another. It used to take me many iterations to satisfy everybody and actually push the code in. It made me feel like a bad developer, until at some point I've started noticing that other people making the exact same "mistakes" are not getting any comments on them.”
